The C button opens Switch 2 GameChat on supported Switch 2 controllers such as Joy-Con 2 (R) and Switch 2 Pro. An original Switch controller does not gain that hardware button.

How to check or set it up
- Check whether the exact controller has a physical C button; Nintendo lists it on Joy-Con 2 (R) and Switch 2 Pro.
- Open GameChat through the supported hardware and check the current service requirements.
- For older pads, do not confuse basic game input with having the new button.
